680 THE FAN ATLANTA – After an eventful offseason (to say the least), Freddie Freeman joined his teammates in North Port yesterday, spending the last two mornings getting back into the swing of things. Tuesday morning, Freeman met with the media at length to discuss his expanded family, their struggles with fertility, what it means to have Marcell Ozuna back and where he could fit in Brian Snitker’s lineup.

Freeman said he wanted to go public with their story to help others in similar situations know they’re not alone. He and his wife Chelsea hope to be an inspiration to folks who are also struggling with fertility and pregnancy. This will no doubt be a tough spring for Freeman, as he won’t see his two new sons until after the first road trip of the season in early April.

When it comes to Ozuna, Freeman had a similar tune to Dansby Swanson a few days ago. Both felt like that was the one missing piece that, had he signed elsewhere, would’ve put a dent into the teams “World Series or Bust” mantra. Speaking of which, many of you have wondered if Freeman will stay in the two hole or return to his familiar third spot in the order. While nothing has been set in stone, without the luxury of a DH this season, expect to see Freeman hitting third with Ozuna backing him up at cleanup. Speaking of lineups, Freddie said the plan for him is to make his 2021 Spring debut this Friday when the Braves take on the Twins again in North Port.

As for goals for the upcoming season, it’s nothing new. This time every year, Freddie makes it well know his desire to play all 162. But even he understands he’s not Acuña or Albies age anymore, and try as he will, Snit will more than likely pick and choose a few spots to get him a breather.
