BULLDOGS IN THE MIX FOR THE NCAA PLAYOFFS!

This is getting to be real exciting! Coach Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs are right in the middle of the College Football Playoff race for a title. It’s been an amazing ride so far. Full of big plays and tough defense!

Obviously, some huge games loom. The big challenges begin this weekend at Auburn, where the Tigers are playing at a very high level. Looks like Georgia will face Alabama in a few weeks too. Taking on the Tide is the biggest challenge any team could face.

So glad we are now past this talk about Jake Fromm not being able to pass. That was Fake News and I told you that from the start. Fromm is actually thriving throwing the ball, with the latest example being his performance against South Carolina. Jake delivered some clutch balls to Wims & Hardman for TD’s. His back-shoulder-fade throw is outstanding. He’s been clutch on 3rd down and against the blitz! Take a look at where Fromm rates in the QBR stat: #6 in College Football!

If you are wondering how the Bulldogs are playing at this high level, then check this out. In the 3 most important statistical groups, The Bulldogs are thriving.

Key Stat #1: Rushing offense and rushing defense. The ‘Dogs offense is #8 in CF and the defense is #5.

Key Stat #2: 3rd Down Performance. The ‘Dogs offense is #3 and the ‘Dogs Defense is Top 20.

Key Stat #3: Red Zone Performance: Bulldogs offense is #1 in CF and the defense is #30 (with only 17 trips allowed into the RZ).

This would be described as “Winning Football.” By the way, the Turnover rate is encouraging too. That’s another big stat.

So, how would Georgia match-up with Alabama? Looks pretty even to me, especially the way Alabama’s linebacker unit has been thinned out due to injury.

And did I mention, right now the Georgia team is healthy. Looks like all 22 starters on offense and defense are suiting up to play against Auburn this week. That’s huge too.
