Tom Brady Gets Back BOTH Stolen Jerseys, Gale Sayers Family On His Dementia, Ex-49er Dwight Clark Diagnosed With ALS, Ray RiceWants To Play Again, Spike Lee – Something “Fishy” with Kaepernick Getting No Free Agency Looks and Katy Perry “Did More Than That!’

Tom Brady’s Last 2 Super Bowl Jerseys Recovered

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the FBI and NFL Security believe they have located Tom Brady’s stolen Super Bowl LI jersey and it will be returned. Glazer reports that the FBI got involved because the jersey was on foreign soil.

There’s no word on whether anyone has been arrested in the investigation, which Houston police said they considered a felony given the value of the jersey, which could have gone for $500,000 at a sports memorabilia auction.

It wasn’t only Tom Brady’s Super Bowl LI jersey that was stolen and is now recovered.

According to Tom Curran of CSNNE.com, it was actually Brady’s last two Super Bowl jerseys that were stolen, and both of them have now been recovered from the same source.

The report says Brady’s Super Bowl XLIX jersey from two years ago was taken by the same person who took the Super Bowl LI jersey. Both were stolen outside the United States and both were recovered in an FBI investigation.

It’s unclear how one person was able to steal two Super Bowl jerseys and sell them both overseas, and it’s also unclear why we’re just now learning that the two-year-old Super Bowl XLIX jersey had also been stolen. The missing Super Bowl LI jersey was reported within hours after the game ended and has been the subject of much discussion in the seven weeks since.

Brady will apparently get both of his jerseys back soon.

Gale Sayers’ Family Describes His Struggle With Dementia

But his family knows better.

In a moving story by Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star, the family of the legendary Bears running back describes his battle with dementia, saying he’s still physically strong but struggling with many daily activities.

“That brain controls everything, doesn’t it?” said his wife, Ardie Sayers.

His wife described the vigilance required to care for Sayers now, noting that he recently tried washing his hands with carpet cleaner. She said another NFL wife told her: “Don’t let him out of your sight.”

“It keeps you on your toes,” she said.

49ers Legend Dwight Clark: Has ALS

One of the most celebrated football players of the 1980s, a man who made a single play which helped turn the fortunes of a franchise, now faces a more difficult fight than any on a football field.

Former 49ers wide receiver Dwight Clark, known for “The Catch,” which helped forge a dynasty, announced that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, a degenerative neurological condition with no known cure.

“I have ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease,” he said in a statement, via Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. “Those words are still very hard for me to say.”

“While I’m still trying to wrap my head around the challenge I will face with this disease over the coming years, the only thing I know is that I’m going to fight like hell and live every day to the fullest.”

In his statement, the 60-year-old Clark said he began feeling weakness in his left hand in September 2015. He initially dismissed it as part of the cost of playing football, like the pain in his neck he’s had since he retired. But as other options were dismissed and the possibilities of other diagnoses narrowed, other symptoms have shown up. He said he’s now experiencing weakness in his right hand, abs, lower back and right leg.

“I can’t run, play golf or walk any distances,” he wrote. “Picking up anything over 30 pounds is a chore. The one piece of good news is that the disease seems to be progressing more slowly than in some patients.”

Clark played nine seasons in the NFL, all with the 49ers. And while he said in his statement he didn’t want to do interviews now, he said he thought the disease was linked to his playing days.

Ray Rice - Hasn’t Given Up On Playing Again

Ray Rice’s NFL career may have ended on September 8, 2014, when the tape of him punching his wife was made public, but Rice isn’t willing to accept that it’s over.

Rice told ESPN he would still like to play and thinks he can still contribute to an NFL team.

“I can still play football,” Rice said. “I’m never going to give up. You’re never going to hear me say I gave up.”

The 30-year-old Rice had a terrible season the last time he played, in 2013. So a lot of NFL teams may doubt that he can still play football. He insists, however, that he could still help an NFL team.

“The reason why I’m not playing football, you do the dots,” Rice said. “It ain’t because I’m a bad football player. That’s just keeping it real. I’m never giving up and never giving in.”

Spike Lee - 'Fishy' Kaepernick Remains Free Agent

Spike Lee, who spent some time with Kaepernick on Sunday, shared a picture of the two of them together with quite a strong message attached to it.

“Just Had Brunch With My Brother Colin @Kaepernick7 . How Is It That There Are 32 NFL Teams And Kap Is Still A Free Agent? WTF. Smells MAD Fishy To Me, Stinks To The High Heavens. The New York J-E-T-S Need A Quarterback. Who Is The J-E-T-S Quarterback? Is My Man Joe Willie Namath Coming Back? Crazy Times We Live In. The Question Remains What Owner And GM Is Going To Step Up And Sign Colin So Their Team Has A Better Chance To WIN? What Crime Has Colin Committed? Look At The QBs Of All 32 Teams. This Is Some Straight Up Shenanigans,

A lot has been reported and speculated on regarding Kaepernick’s continued lack of interest in NFL circles. One report indicates NFL owners and top brass can’t stand him and/or just find him to be “an embarrassment to football.”

Another report indicates at least some owners fear backlash if they do sign him to their team.

Katy Perry on ‘I Kissed a Girl’: ‘Truth Be Told, I Did More Than That!’

When Katy Perry released the pop hit I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It in 2008, she says she was starting a conversation with people around the world.

“Truth be told, I did more than that!” she told the audience of the2017 HRC Los Angeles Gala while accepting the National Equality Award on Saturday night. “But how was I going to reconcile that with the gospel-singing girl raised in youth groups that were pro conversion camps? What I did know was that I was curious, and even then I knew that sexuality was not as black and white as this dress.

“But in 2008, when that song came out, I knew that it started a conversation that a lot of the world seemed curious enough to sing along to it.”

Perry went on to detail her religious upbringing (both of her parents are pastors) and how she “prayed the gay away at Jesus camps.” But soon her “bubble started to burst” and she discovered people who were different from her.

“These people were nothing like I had been taught to fear. They were the most free, strong, kind, and inclusive people that I have ever met,” she said. “They stimulated my mind, and they filled my heart with joy, and they danced with joy while doing it. These people are actually, magic, and they are magic because they are living their truth.”

Although she strayed away from the beliefs of her religion, Perry says she wouldn’t have chosen a different path for herself: “Priceless lessons happen large. The path of discovery has made me, has tested me, and forever changed me. You don’t get to choose your family, but you can choose your tribe,” she said. “I stand here as real evidence for all that no matter where you came from it is about where you are going, that real change, real evolution, and that real perception shift can happen, if we open our minds and soften our hearts.”

The pop star added that it would’ve been a lot easier for her to stay the “whipped-creamed-t–s-springing-poppy-lite-coffee-fun-anthem-animal-totem-singing-girl” who remained neutral politically.

“No longer can I sit in silence,” she says. “I have to stand up what I feel is true and that is equality and justice for all, period.”
