THE FLATS – Discounts for season-ticket holders, an expansion of the stadium footprint and the introduction of the Tailgate At Wreckfest highlight many new features that Georgia Tech football fans will experience at Bobby Dodd Stadium this fall.
SEASON-TICKET HOLDER DISCOUNTS
- 20-percent discount on concessions – available at 20 “Burdell’s Bites” concession locations and other labeled stands throughout the stadium (click HERE for map of participating concession locations and table outlining how discount is applied);
- 25-percent discount at Barnes & Noble Bookstore locations at Bobby Dodd Stadium – available at four locations inside Bobby Dodd Stadium and one location in Callaway Plaza during Wreckfest (discount is available only at gameday locations at Bobby Stadium – discount is not available at the Barnes & Noble at GT Bookstore location in Tech Square).
To receive discounts, season-ticket holder must present their game ticket at Burdell’s Bites and Barnes & Noble locations at Bobby Dodd Stadium. All season tickets (hard tickets, print-at-home and mobile tickets) are designated with a “Season Ticket Holder” label.
EXPANSION OF STADIUM FOOTPRINT
In an effort to alleviate congestion at entry gates and concession lines, Georgia Tech has expanded the footprint of Bobby Dodd Stadium into Techwood Drive on the stadium’s east side. The expanded footprint will include new entry points for Gates 8 and 9.
The stadium footprint expansion into Techwood Drive also includes the introduction of the Techwood Market. Techwood Market not only features a wide range of new concession options, but is available to fans during the game (beginning 90 minutes prior to kickoff through the start of the third quarter) since it will be within the stadium footprint. Techwood Market will not only present fans with new concession options, but also help alleviate congestion and shorten long lines at other concessions locations on the east side of the stadium.
THE TAILGATE AT WRECKFEST
Announced earlier this month, The Tailgate at Wreckfest offers Georgia Tech fans all the fun of tailgating without the fuss. Located atop Peters Parking Deck, The Tailgate at Wreckfest includes food, tailgate games, music and a cash bar, beginning three hours prior to kickoff. Perfect for fans that arrive at the stadium via rideshares or MARTA or simply don’t want the hassle of tailgating set-up and clean-up, The Tailgate at Wreckfest also offers a prime tailgating location, just steps from the north entrances to Bobby Dodd Stadium and in close proximity to Yellow Jacket Alley and Wreckfest.
Space is limited, but spots are still available for Saturday’s season opener versus Alcorn State for just $25 per person (game ticket not included). Click HERE to secure a spot.
Also new to Bobby Dodd Stadium this season, guests can now contact stadium management with any gameday issues or with any gameday inquiries by texting BUZZ to 78247. Beginning four hours prior to kickoff through one hour postgame, fans can communicate with stadium management on all issues, including security, parking, facility topics, guest services, etc.
CLEAR BAG POLICY MODIFICATIONS
In an effort to address some concerns from fans, Georgia Tech athletics has made some modifications to the clear bag policy that was introduced at all GT athletics venues this year. Modifications include:
Bag Valets – Georgia Tech has added an additional bag valet to allow fans to check bags that aren’t permitted inside Bobby Dodd Stadium on both the north and south sides of the stadium. Fans can check bags for free at either bag valet, located atop Peters Parking Deck on the stadium’s north side and at Gate 1 on the stadium’s south side. Both bag valets will be secured by Georgia Tech police and stadium security staff.
Zippers on Chairbacks/Seat Cushions – Portable chairbacks and seat cushions with zippers are permitted inside Bobby Dodd Stadium, as long as the purpose of the zipper is to hold a cushion in place. Chairbacks/seat cushions cannot have zip-up pockets or compartments.
Water Bottles – Any reasonably sized water bottles (up to a half gallon) that are clear, plastic and empty are permitted inside Bobby Dodd Stadium and can be filled at any of the new water-bottle filling stations located throughout the stadium. Commercial water bottles (e.g. an empty Dasani bottle) are permitted. Of course, water bottles provided to season-ticket account holders are also permitted and serve as a great example of one of the types of bottles that can be brought into the stadium.
Medical Items – Fans with medically necessary items can enter the stadium at any gate. All items will be inspected by a gate supervisor.
As a reminder, as part of the clear bag policy, fans (including season-ticket holders) are not permitted to bring outside food or drinks into Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Georgia Tech’s clear bag policy was implemented as a result of recommendations from security experts, with the purpose of making Bobby Dodd Stadium a safe environment for everyone in attendance while also expediting entry into the stadium as much as possible.
Fans can assist with the latter by arriving at Bobby Dodd Stadium as early as possible. Gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff (11 a.m. for Saturday’s opener vs. Alcorn State). Please plan to be in your seats for the Georgia Tech Marching Band’s pregame show starting 20 minutes prior to kickoff and, of course, for the best entrance in college football when the Yellow Jackets take the field behind the Ramblin’ Wreck at five minutes prior to kickoff.
