Atlanta, GA – The perceived dissension that had been brewing in the Braves front office over the last few months of the 2017 season finally came to a head Monday afternoon with the resignation of John Coppolella.

Coppolella, who just completed his third season as general manager, is currently under investigation by Major League Baseball. An official statement by the Atlanta Braves stated that “the resignation comes due to a breach of MLB rules regarding the international player market.”

The organization will begin an immediate search for Coppolella’s replacement. John Hart will perform GM duties until a replacement is named.
