A source familiar with the negotiations said the seven-time All-Star catcher and his first Major League club have agreed on a contract. Financial details were not revealed, and the team has not yet commented.

McCann played for the Braves from 2005-13, hitting .277 with 176 home runs. The suburban Atlanta native spent the past two seasons with the Astros, earning a World Series ring in the process.

Mark Bowman has covered the Braves for MLB.com since 2001.
