Georgia Tech Releases Pre-Season Football Timeline

The NCAA Football Oversight Committee proposed and the Division I Council approved a preseason football timeline last month. For Georgia Tech, that preseason timeline is as follows:

Saturday, July 11-Tuesday, July 21

Student-athletes may be required to participate in up to eight hours of weight training, conditioning and film review per week (not more than two hours of film review per week)

Wednesday, July 22-Tuesday, Aug. 4

Student-athletes may be required to participate in up to 20 hours of countable athletically related activities per week (not more than four hours per day) as follows:

·        Up to eight hours per week for weight training and conditioning

·        Up to six hours per week for walkthroughs, which may include the use of a football

·        Up to six hours per week for meetings, which may include film review, team meetings, position meetings, one-on-one meetings, etc.

Wednesday, Aug. 5

Preseason camp begins.

As you know, the ACC’s virtual media day is set for Wednesday, July 22. Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins and two student-athletes will participate. Be on the lookout for more information from the ACC in the near future.
