Hawks Reportedly Offered 4 First-Round Picks For Paul George

Pacers small forward Paul George has been the subject of many trade rumors ever since the trade deadline. One of the teams that made a hard run for George in February was the Atlanta Hawks. Back then, all we knew was the Hawks proposed an

“aggressive” package revolving around draft picks, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Now we know just how aggressive the offer was.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Hawks offered four first-round picks for the Pacers star:

Several teams made trade offers for George in February, including the Atlanta Hawks, who offered four first-round picks in exchange for him.

You can understand why the Hawks wanted George so badly. He’s a 27-year-old, two-way wing who gave LeBron James a tough matchup (at least for the first three games) in the playoffs this year.

But four first rounders?

Now, the Hawks do potentially have some first-round picks to spare. They hold their own first-round pick in all upcoming drafts as well as a top-14 protected future Timberwolves pick and a top-10 protected future Cavs pick.

And while we now know the Pacers likely will be unable to extend George’s contract after he failed to make the All-NBA teams announced Thursday (all-league honors would have allowed the Pacers to give George a $210 million extension, giving him financial incentive to stay in Indiana), the Hawks of course did not know back in February the likelihood of George becoming a free agent in 2018.

Windhorst did not report if any of the picks Atlanta offered were protected. Presumably, the Hawks would have some provisions to give up that much for a single player.

George is one of the NBA’s special talents, and he’s just hitting his prime. Putting a true star alongside budding point guard Dennis Schroder and veteran power forward Paul Millsap could make the Hawks one of the top three teams in the East.

Coach Michael Vick? Ex-Eagles, Jets QB Talked About Possibility With Andy Reid

Still holding out hope to make a return to the NFL as a quarterback, 36-year-old former Eagles and Jets quarterback Michael Vick says that he has discussed making the leap to a coaching career, with his former coach Andy Reid.

“I think spending so many years in that same regiment being a player, I could see myself doing it on the other side and being a coach, and being a good one at that,” Vick said during an appearance on the Howard Eskin Podcast. “That would be my focus, that would be my primary goal — to be the best coach that I could be, just like I tried to be the best player that I could be. And excitement is working with the kids.

Via Darren Rovell of ESPN.com, Vick will participate in a professional flag football game on June 27. Recently-retired running back Justin Forsett also will be playing in the game.

It’s a test run for a potential eight-team league, which would play seven-on-seven football on a 100-yard field for 60 minutes at a time.

NCAA president Mark Emmert received more than $1.9M in compensation in 2015

According to the NCAA’s new federal tax return obtained by USA Today Sports, president Mark Emmert made more than $1.9 million in compensation during 2015. Of course, that’s nothing compared to Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany, who is due $20 million in bonuses.

While Emmert made close to two million, 10 other NCAA executives made at least $415,000. Compared to the multiple millions of dollars conference commissioners in Power Five leagues make, that’s not too remarkable. But it’s still a big sign that the NCAA’s whole “there’s no money available to pay players” spiel is not really true.

Here’s more from USA Today on what the NCAA is doing with all its money:

However, the return provides more details on the NCAA expenses for fiscal 2016, which included:

  • Outside legal costs of nearly $33.5 million. That’s about $1.5 million more than the NCAA had estimated when it released its financial statement in March. The NCAA has now reported a combined total of $72.4 million in legal costs on its past three tax returns.
  • Advertising and promotion spending of $13.7 million — up from $6.3 million in 2015 and $1.2 million in 2014. I

Former Chargers Security Guard Pleads Guilty In Stadium Masturbation Case

A former San Diego Chargers security guard pleaded guilty to committing a lewd act after he was recorded by fans touching himself in the near vicinity of cheerleaders while the team played the Oakland Raiders last season, according to TMZ Sports.

The video was posted to social media.

He was sentenced to three years probation and counseling but will not have to register as a sex offender, according to Allison Ash of KGTV. He did not have any prior criminal record.

Elite Services, the company running security at the stadium, fired the man, and he “voluntarily surrendered his security guard license less than two weeks after the incident,” according to Ash.

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez are one of the newest power couples in the sports world, but apparently, not everyone is aware of that.

When the two hit up the Met Gala earlier in the month, which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City, not everyone knew what their status was.

Even though it’s a well-known fact that the two are dating, many that were in attendance at the big event were unaware. In fact, paparazzi, photographers and other eventgoers didn’t even recognize him, and mistook A-Rod for J-Lo’s security guard or limo driver!

5 Hospitalized After Eating Gas Station Nacho Cheese

Officials have taken the business’ permit to sell food and drinks

Your first clue the nacho cheese may not be “altogether good”!

California officials say five people were hospitalized after eating nacho cheese from a Sacramento gas station.

The Sacramento Bee reports officials have connected five botulism illness cases to Valley Oak Food and Fuel gas station in the Walnut Grove suburb. Sacramento health officials are also investigating four cases that may be related. One of the victims has filed a lawsuit against the gas station. Lavinia Kelly has been in the hospital for three weeks. She says the illness caused her to lose her ability to keep her eyelids open.

“[He] is desperately trying to get back with her,” an insider tells Us. “They’ve been talking again.”

Murray, 32, and Stanton, 27, got engaged during the season 3 finale of Bachelor in Paradise, which aired last summer. The couple split in December 2016, but have reunited several times since.

The pair have definitely had their ups and downs. In March, Murray — who ended his engagement to former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman in January 2015 — called the police in a dispute over their car and threatened to sue Stanton unless she stopped talking about him.

So Josh Murray can’t keep a woman and Aaron Murray can’t keep a job- right Hoyt ?!?!?
