According to a news release by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Varvaro joined its police force Friday, one of 80 officers in this year’s Port Authority training class.

Varvaro, who turned 32 on Halloween, is from Staten Island and pitched for St. John’s University.

Pitching for the Braves from 2011-14, Varvaro made 153 appearances, all in relief. He pitched 168 2/3 innings and compiled a 7-7 record with a 2.99 ERA. He mostly was a setup man, but he did record one save as a Brave.

The highlights of his time with the Braves came in 2013 and 2014, when he appeared in 62 and 61 games, respectively. In those seasons, he pitched in 128 innings and was 6-4 with a 2.74 ERA. He finished 47 of the 123 games.

In December 2014, the Braves traded Varvaro to the Red Sox for minor league pitcher Aaron Kurcz and cash.

An arm injury led Varvaro to retire from baseball in June of this year.

According to Baseball Reference.com, Varvaro was paid more than $2 million in the majors. Now he will help make New York and New Jersey safe. According to the port authority, its officers patrol “three major airports, four bi-state bridges and two tunnels, the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the PATH rail system, the regional ports in New York and New Jersey and the 16-acre World Trade Center site.”

Jeff Fisher matches Dan Reeves with most career losses

Say what you will about Jeff Fisher, but he’s a survivor. He has now survived long enough to tie Dan Reeves for the most losses in NFL history.

Both have 165, following a 42-14 loss by the Rams to the Falcons, one of the teams Reeves coached.

Jim Harbaugh to coach the Rams? Insane rumor is 'very real thing'

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh could reportedly return to the NFL to coach the Los Angeles Rams. The rumor has some legs.

While on Colin Cowherd’s FS1 show, MMQB‘s Albert Breer said that Harbaugh to the Rams is a “very real possibility.”

Jim Harbaugh to the #Rams “a very real possibility according to @AlbertBreer via @ColinCowherd:

Here is what Cowherd had to say about the Rams coaching situation if they move on from Jeff Fisher:

“I think Josh McDaniels could be really good, but his profile’s rather small especially on the west coast. He was in Denver briefly, the Tebow coach and fail. I think you could bring Mike Shanahan in and he would bring his son Kyle Shanahan and if they came to Los Angeles that would work and you could bring Jim Harbaugh, that would work. Maybe a Jon Gruden is worth considering. But, right now the Rams are bad and boring and this is Los Angeles and it’s not working. I think Mike Shanahan for three years and then Kyle takes over after that makes a lot of sense.”

McDaniels, Gruden and Shanahan are all candidates we’ve listed to replace Fisher.

ESPN is reportedly interested in hiring Les Miles

FILE - This Sept. 17, 2016 file photo shows LSU head coach Les Miles watching from the sideline in the second half of an NCAA college football game against Mississippi State in Baton Rouge, La. Two people familiar with the decision say LSU has fired Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and promoted defensive line coach Ed Orgeron to interim head coach. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 on condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made. Miles firing comes one day after LSU lost 18-13 at Auburn. If former LSU football coach Les Miles can’t find another job in coaching, he’s got a fallback plan. According to FootballScoop.com, ESPN is “very interested” in hiring Miles as a college football analyst.

This makes tons of sense, as Miles is a super-successful coach who also happens to be funny, honest and engaging on camera. That’s a rare combination in the unemployment line.

As we’ve written before, Miles would be a perfect replacement for the retiring Lee Corso on ESPN’s College GameDay. Here’s how our Ian Casselberry put it back in September HERE.

Khloe Kardashian’s free to start planning a Christmas wedding to Tristan Thompson, now that she and Lamar Odom are finally single in the eyes of the law … or they will be very shortly.

According to their final divorce docs, stamped by the judge … their split will be legal on December 17. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, the exes both waived spousal support. As for their assets … Khloe and Lamar are splitting their production company, Khlomar, and a checking account right down the middle.

She’s keeping her interest in DASH Boutique and he’s keeping his NBA 401(k) plan. They’d already sold their marital home, and Khloe’s keeping the Calabasas home where she currently lives.

This brings their glacial-paced divorce proceedings to a close. Khloe first filed divorce docs in December 2013, withdrew it after his near-fatal OD … and then refiled in May 2016.

Adrien Broner Loses Threesome Sex Tape Case ... Protect Your 'Ho Phone'

Boxer Adrien Broner just learned the hard way … if you’re going to record a threesome on your phone — DON’T LET IT GO PUBLIC!!!

A Nevada court just ordered the boxer to fork over $175,000 (plus other fees) to one of his co-stars from a 2013 romp after the footage mysteriously surfaced on World Star Hip Hop.

Broner had argued that he didn’t intentionally leak the video (which was shot with the consent of his 2 partners) … but he had lost the phone he shot it on and someone else posted it.

So, why didn’t Broner have a password on his phone?

The boxer testified that he has 3 phones on him at all times — a business phone, a family phone and a “ho phone” (his actual words).

Broner says he simply never bothered to password protect the ho phone — so anyone could’ve had access to his x-rated library.

The jury bought Broner’s story and found that he did not act intentionally … just negligently … and ordered him to fork over the $40k in lost wages and $135k for pain and suffering.

The plaintiff’s attorney, Kevin Hansen, tells TMZ Sports, “I’m happy to see that the jury saw through the defendant’s games. They saw [my client] for who she is and Broner for who he is.
