Raised in suburban Philadelphia, John attended Temple University where he majored in Communications. During college John worked for Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach Mike Keenan as a Video/Statistical Coordinator for the coaching staff. John began his own ice hockey coaching career at two local suburban high schools and West Chester University.
While working in the healthcare industry, John continued to pursue a career in sports broadcasting on a part-time basis. He was a contributor to the highly successful WIP Morning Show from 1992-1994.
After moving to Atlanta in 1995, Mike Thompson hired John at the original 680 The Fan as a weekend talk show host. While continuing to work in the Atlanta business community, he worked at 790 The Zone from 1997-2000. He hosted weekend talk shows and in 1999, retired from the business world to pursue a broadcasting career on a full-time basis. He hosted the Atlanta Thrashers Radio Pre-Game and Post-Game shows and appeared on the TV Pre-Game Show.
In 2000, Mike Thompson brought John to 680 The Fan to co-host the afternoon drive program with Buck Belue. The "Buck and Kincade Show" was born. The show celebrated its’ sixth anniversary on Labor Day of 2006. John serves as the host for the annual 680 The Fan Leukemia/Lymphoma Strike Out Radiothon held each February. Last years event raised over $104,000.
John is an avid golfer and obsessed with the successes and failures of the Philadelphia Eagles. He and his wife Cristina have a daughter named Olivia.
John can now also be heard on 680 The Fan broadcasts of ESPN Radio programming. John joined ESPN Radio in 2004. He serves as the primary fill-in host for Colin Cowherd on “The Herd”. John has also substituted as host for Mike Greenberg on “Mike and Mike in the Morning” and Dan Patrick on “The Dan Patrick Show”. In 2006 ESPN Radio gave John his own national program, “The John Kincade Show”. It is heard Sunday mornings but is currently on hiatus until after the NFL regular season.
