Ray Mariner is an on-air personality who has entertained Atlanta listeners for nearly 10 years. A native of Chicago, Ray graduated from  Appalachian State in Boone, NC. His radio career includes gigs in Charlotte, Cleveland and Orlando. Ray took a break from radio in the 90s and joined Columbia Records. He worked with artists like Aerosmith, Train, Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child, Ricky Martin and Bruce Springsteen. In 2003, he returned to radio by joining co-host Cindy Simmons on Star 94.  Ray’s hobbies include golf, skiing and extreme sports (he’s bungee jumped off a bridge and driven a stock car at 150 mph). Ray is a resident of the Brookhaven community and enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny and his kids, Jack & Logan.

Ray Mariner’s obsession with sports began at an early age and was fueled by many notable sports memories including meeting Muhammad Ali & Richard Petty as a youngster, watching NASCAR and Notre Dame football with his parents and being an athlete himself.  Ray played football through high school and was a member of a state championship winning team.  He attended Appalachian State to play baseball and instead started his radio career by announcing games after a major knee injury abruptly ended his college baseball career.  As a father of an athletic son Ray now spends his weekends attending youth football, baseball and basketball games, swim meets and more.  Ray is an avid fan of the Falcons, Braves, Hawks, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Appalachian State.  Ray recently had the privilege to work for the Atlanta Braves during the 2011 season hosting pre & in-game entertainment events at Turner Field.
