III.  RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES

1

#5 – establishes an internship program designed to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment.

Currently have 5 interns for promotions and 4 interns for programming departments.

Supervisor of this program:  Scott McFarlane Promotions Director and Jim Mahanay Operations Manager

 

2

#3 – Cosponsor at least one job fair with an organization in the business and professional community whose membership includes substantial participation of women and minorities.

Sponsor of UGA Career Day/GAB Job Fair. Students from the University of Georgia’s Grady College and other UGA colleges will be available for a two and a half hour period on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the University of Georgia’s Tate Student Center located at 325 Tate Center on the UGA campus.

#1 – Participate in at least four job fairs with station personnel who have substantial responsibility for hiring decisions.
