Michael Turner made a mistake. Falcon Fans sound off

Sep 21, 2012 -- 1:04pm

Michael Turner of the Atlanta Falcons made a mistake after the Monday Night Football game. He was arrested for speeding and DUI. He later apologized and now the matter will be handled by the NFL and the Gwinnett County. What do you do if you've had too much to drink? Chance it? Is it really worth putting yourself or someone else in that kind of danger, just to avoid the hassle of calling a taxi or a friend to come get you? Maybe you don't want to leave your car? There are lots of excuses to drink and drive...BEFORE you do, I want you to check out this website. www.saferideamerica.org/ It could save your life.

p.s. I am not being paid to pass along this information. This is a public service from The Rude Awakening to you.

"A well-respected and widely available nonprofit that vows to drive you and your car home for less than the price of a taxi" - Atlanta Journal Constitution

SafeRide America is a social enterprise 501(c)3 charity organization that effectively provides a proven, useful, and affordable answer to stopping impaired driving incidents before they happen.

It's simple: We drive YOU in YOUR CAR.

Our driver-for-hire social service program gives everyone an opportunity to be a responsible consumer of alcohol by offering society new "tools" to get themselves AND their cars home safely.

For more than a decade, SafeRide America has blazed the trail in driver-for-hire services. No one has been at it longer, nor do they do it better than us.

When we started, we were the only business of its kind. Now, more than 12 years later, our proven effective social enterprise called SafeRide has become a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy friend that it's customer's can count on. To our regulars we are like a great pair of broken in shoes. For our new customers, we are like a breath of fresh air. Why not rely on the best in the business? We did, after all, invent the industry. Call us and find out what so many already know. We Are Your Best Option! We're here when you need us most!

Created to help solve the impaired driving problems we all face, The SafeRide America Program combines three different public services that have only one goal; to get impaired drivers off our roads, no matter the reason for impairment.

SafeRide Services: A fee based driver-for-hire service for you and your car. Our professional drivers work in teams of two. One driver will drive with you in the comfort of your own vehicle while the other driver follows behind in the chase car.

SafeChauffeur Services: Rent one of our professional drivers to chauffeur you in your own car or a rented car. Our professional driver-for-hire service is available 24/7 by reservation to members and non-members. SafeChauffeur is ideal for the traveling business person that must entertain clients or for a special night out on the town with friends or a loved one.

SafeParty Service: Hire a team of dedicated SafeRide drivers for your next party or event. SafeParty services are available to ensure the transportation safety of your friends and guests while helping to protect responsible hosts from liability incurred when serving alcohol.

Obviously, Falcons fans were very disappointed...as the comments on my Facebook page with attest.
Christopher Rude's Facebook Fodder...Falcons Fans sound off...

Jacob Coley Lol all that NFL money but too stubborn for a cab ride
  • NY Nick He won't be charged. Gwinnett loves high profile idiots with $$$. Cops in Gwinnett love the falcons. Especially when they bust them. It stimulates the economy.
  • James Reese Gotta sign a guy 1st...Tiki Barber still out there.??
  • Rich Mattiford Heard he tried to resist arrest, but couldn't get more than 3 yards away...
  • Heather Rellinger he has the "I am athlete and I can talk my way out of this" disease.
  • Ryan Turner Yeah, he tried to get away a couple of times but only averaged 2.9 yards per attempt
  • Mitch Butler It takes more than just him.
  • Jim Smith IDIOT!!!!!!!
  • Alan Nicholes Falcons have plenty of backups....hell no on Tiki..................
  • Alan Nicholes Actually I think Tiki is a barber now....
  • James Reese Quizz & Snell alone would get it all done? I don't think so.
  • Alan Nicholes How about getting away from the Falcon past of run run pass punt and pass to the huge talented receivers we have!....just saying.
  • James Reese Like it but can't leave Ryan alone in backfield. Newsflash the Andre Ware thing didn't work. Let's not even mention Jeff George.
