Just got back from vaca, lots to get to on Monday’s show......
Belated congratulations to the city of Atlanta and all the tennis fans for the tremendous turnout all week for the BB&T Atlanta Open. The Atlantic Station venue was as spectacular as advertised. Thanks to all the volunteers from the ushers to the ball girls, Ron Cioffi and everyone involved with the event should take a bow.....Job Well Done !!!!
Props to Andy Roddick , who defeated Gilles Muller to capture the title. Andy gets a lot of grief from many of my colleagues who know nothing about tennis, but with his victory Roddick captured his 32ndATP tour title, that is 3rdamong active players behind Nadal and Federer. I guess Andy’s biggest sin was being born in the same era as two of the greatest players of all time?
Lets hope the right shoulder injury Andy seemed to pick up in the final doesn’t hamper his performance in the Olympics.
