Hey Guys regarding your discussion I agree with Perry, which is amazing in and of itself! :-)

This is what I sent to Buck.

Buck what makes you so sure Murray is gone?

I will say this, if he does its a big mistake in my opinion but these kids make mistakes ever year.

Name one NFL QB that didn't play out their eligibility that is very successful in the NFL as in showing elite performance and has won playoffs and SBs.

Brady
Manning
Manning
Rodgers
Rivers
Brees
Ryan
Roeth
RGIII
Luck
Russell Wilson
Cutler
Schaub

Stafford, Sanchez and Vick are earning big dollars and I don't blame Stafford for coming out early due to the rookie cap and he was #1. But they aren't in the elite QBs.

My point is Murray is NOT elite in terms of the NFL. He is NOT the next Andrew Luck, he was the top QB prospect in many scouts eyes...since Elway. Murray is not.

He has the potential to erase most every UGA passing record and many others in the SEC. You know as well as anyone what legacy means to a QB in the future.

He leaves early he is only one among many of you that have played QB at UGA but you, Tarkenton, Greene and Zeir will still be the guys everyone looks to. Murray and Stafford will not.

He has won 1 game against ranked teams. The game is finally slowing down for him. He now needs to learn the intangibles which is leading, the subtleties of player motivation.

And if he doesn't succeed in the NFL, if he stays this final year, he will have so many more opportunities than he would have going pro.

The argument I have heard is there are very few QBs coming out in this draft. But to me that is irrelevant. Its not as much as the competition in the draft it is convincing scouts and GMs that you are a franchise QB.

It doesn't matter if there are 3 or 7 in front of you, if they aren't convinced you are the guy, they aren't going to draft you high.

Kiper has him going late 2nd or early 3rd. To me he can come back and possibly get himself into the 2nd or possibly first and could have a chance at the Heisman and enjoy his last year. And his legacy regardless of what happens in the NFL will be greatly enhanced by owning every UGA record and a lot of SEC ones. You can't put a price on that.

Happy Holidays!

Love being at my college football games.... But reasons for MY attendance to be down:
- 2 hour drive each way plus 3-1/2 hour game... burns a day... Only want to do that so many times a fall.
- I have a pretty good TV and surround sound setup..plus a Big Green Egg just outside my screen porch.
- No worries driving home if I enjoy a beverage or two.
- And probably the biggest influence is that my kids Saturday sports schedules have become increasingly more busy..and I don't want to be that dad that misses their activities because I'm at a CFB game..... Besides I can usually watch on my phone and then replay it when I get home.

About this PSL thing. Let’s put this all into perspective. For about $15,000 each X 70,000 ticket holders we could purchase the Falcons for $1B like the Green Bay community. Why would I pay more than that for just tix?

_____________________________________________

have pretty much quit going to Falcon games live for the following reasons:

1. They are called seats for a reason; however in the last 5 years or so the culture has changed and you are forced to stand for the entire game if you are in the lower level and sometimes the mezzanine. At home I am in an easy chair. I guess we should go back to calling them "stands". I run 30 miles a week, but call me crazy, but I don't want to pay $1,000 (in the future) for a seat license and then $100 per ticket or more to stand up for 4 hours.

2. My coke zero costs 45 cents at home $4.00 at the stadium.

3. Commercial breaks last 3-4 minutes, and there is nothing more exciting than being at the game, and waiting four minutes for a commercial break after a touchdown drive, then watching a kicker take five seconds to kick the ball out of the back of the end zone and then breaking 3 more minutes for commercials before the offense takes the field, because the previous drive took too long. 7 minutes of ads combined with 5 seconds of nothing. Wow, what excitement. At home with TiVo those seven minutes of ads take just about 15 seconds.

4. I don't have to listen to drunk fans spewing F-bombs, and GD's every sentence even with children and grandmas in the stands.

Christopher:

I am a big fan of your show and a long time listener since your FM days in Atlanta.

Last week a caller, who I believe was a Georgia fan, suggested that Manti Te’o of Notre Dame was overrated, not deserving of the Heisman nomination and Notre Dame would be in for its own rude awakening when it goes up against Alabama and its SEC caliber defense. Perry, in so many words, said the caller was the worst ever, didn’t know what he was talking about and he said you should end his call.

That call convinced me to do a little research and now I too seriously question why Te’o was such a highly rated Heisman candidate. No doubt he’s an exceptional linebacker but a Heisman candidate, really?

I compared Te’o to 3 quality SEC linebackers in several key defensive categories. Te’o has seven interceptions which has been widely reported but that ranks him 4th in the nation in that category overall. Compared to the 3 SEC linebackers, Te’o has fewer tackles than Kevin Minter of LSU while CJ Mosley of Alabama only has 4 fewer tackles than Te’o. Jarvis Jones of Georgia has an astounding 22.5 tackles for loss compared to Te’o’s 5.5 (17 more than Te’o!) and that’s with one fewer game. Minter and Mosley each have more tackles for loss than Te’o at 13.5 and 7 respectively.

In other key categories, Jones has 12.5 sacks, 7 forced fumbles and 19 quarterback hurries. In comparison, Te’o has only 1.5 sacks (11 fewer than Jones) no forced fumbles (7 fewer than Jones) and 15 fewer QB hurries than Jones. Minter and Mosley each have more forced fumbles than Te’o and Minter matches is 4 QB hurries. Mosley has 3 compared to Te’o’s 4.

These were the only linebackers I compared directly to Te’o but I did note that Te’o doesn’t rank in the top 50 nationally is several defensive categories overall.

That leads me to conclude that while Te’o is a quality linebacker, he was really not any more deserving than Minter or Mosley as a Heisman candidate and he was probably less deserving than Georgia’s Jarvis Jones. More Notre Dame bias. – Roll Tide!

For discussing the drinking and driving thing this morning. It is an important public service.

One other point I always bring up is that you don't have to be over the legal limit (.08) to screw up your life. Let's just say you are heading home from the sports bar on a Sunday at about 6 p.m. and are maybe at a .06 and some kid rides their bike in your path and you hit and kill them. It's not your fault, you are not legally drunk, but.......if the parents get a sympathetic jury in a Civil Court, guess who's going to be paying a good portion of their paycheck each month for the rest of their life.

No it didn't happen to me but I'm just saying it could happen. Is it a remote chance?? yes - but why even risk it. Just don't drink and drive. There are plenty of people who don't drink who can drive you and there are plenty of services as Sandra mentioned to simply remove the possibility.

Hey Perry,

I agree with you totally about the inappropriateness of buying stuff like lingerie for your sister.

By the way, did you want me to get you the leopard thong or the Batman jock strap?

I know it only happens once a year, and I know you and your co-hosts had a good time with it, but your trading gifts and talking about it on the air is pretty shitty radio entertainment for your audience. Maybe that would be a better activity for AFTER the show??

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW FROM THE ESPN REPORTER THAT CRITICIZED RG3 FOR NOT

IT MEAN SAGGING PANTS.....LISTENING TO RAP MUSIC....HAVING 10 KIDS BY
10 DIFFERENT WOMEN....AND ONLY DATING OR MARRYING BLACK WOMEN...TELL

GUESS I AM NOT BLACK EITHER. I DONT SAG MY PANTS.....I DONT LISTEN TO

THE BOWL GAMES HAVE BEEN TAINTED BECAUSE THE BCS RUINED IT BY MOVING
THE TITLE GAME TO THE MIDDLE OF JANUARY INSTEAD OF MAKING ALL THE BOWL
GAMES ON JANUARY 1. ITS FUNNY TO SAY, BUT THE OLD BOWL SYSTEM WAS
BETTER BECAUSE AT LEAST ALL THE TOP 4 TEAMS HAD HOPE...NOW IF YOU ARE
NUMBE 3 OR 4...WHAT THE HELL IS THE MOTIVATION...
