Tip your cap to Alabama, if you're a Georgia man. The 'Dogs had them on the ropes a couple of times and just couldn't finish them off. The Tide earned that SEC title, in one of the great SEC games of all-time.
Obviously, the inability to slow down the Alabama run game, with Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon. The Alabama O-Line put on a run-blocking clinic in the 2nd half. Saban admitted they couldn't protect in the passing game. So, they had to turn to the run game. Grantham's D-Line was unable to hold up, with just 3 legit DL available.
Thought Murray and the offense might pull it out in the final seconds, but Alabama LB C.J. Mosley stepped up with a big play, on the final play. He tipped it and Conley caught it...and the final seconds ticked away.
The controversy is whether or not Murray should have spiked the ball to stop the clock at :15. They elected to call a play and not allow Alabama to get organized. That's one way to play it. But the spike would have given Georgia 2 shots at the end zone. No guarantee of scoring, but at least you get 2 plays, right?
Awesome effort though. That was a heavyweight brawl, on the big stage.
Got to serve up breakfast to The Rude Awakening now. Lost the bet with Cofar. I'll deliver on Friday, wearing Bama gear. Ouch.
