Georgia has never lost 3 in a row to South Carolina. The Gamecocks can make that happen, with a win on Saturday at a wild and crazy Williams-Brice Stadium. It's an SEC East showdown. The winner takes the lead.
Spurrier's team looks tough, especially on defense. And obviously, Marcus Lattimore can carry them offensively. This is a big challenge for Georgia.
The Bulldogs O-Line is in the spotlight this week. Can they block'm? Expect to see star DE Jadaveon Clowney lined up over freshman John Theus. The freshman tackle has been solid in run blocking, so far. But in pass protection he has struggled with speed. And that's what Clowney brings to the table. The other DE, Devin Taylor, is also a quality pass rusher.
The Bulldogs need to establish "Gur-shall." Can't have Aaron Murray back in the pocket too much. The quick passing game (bubble screens) is also a way to cool down the pass rush. But the key is the run game. Need to get Todd Gurley some running room. Keith Marshall too. Plus, Murray has to protect the ball.
Georgia's defense has to elevate its play, for the 'Dogs to be able to go into Columbia and leave with a win. All the starters are back. No more excuses. Got to fit the run game better. And gang tackle! Lattimore is a beast. It'll take more than one dude to bring him down.
Should be a good one.
