Kincade’s Random Thoughts – 01/03/17

3 THINGS I GOT WRONG ABOUT THE FALCONS THIS YEAR:

I’ll be glad to say it…”Boy was I wrong!”  The entire off season of 2016 I was a non-believer in Kyle Shanahan. I thought he was a petulant, unbending football mind unwilling to cooperate with his star QB.  Yep, got that one really wrong. I never once gave the guy the benefit of the doubt that he could learn and evolve. He taught me a lesson in harsh judgments.

This summer I predicted a Falcons step back to 7-9, based mostly on the schedule difficulty they faced. I was off by 4 games as the Falcons mostly cruised to 11 victories.

I criticized the drafting of Keanu Neal. Though I did not trash him as a talent, I thought that his selection at 19 was far too aggressive. After this impressive rookie campaign I see his upside and can understand why they fell in love with him. In fact, there were not 18 better rookies so TD and the Falcons get the win there.

Those are the three things that I got wrong on the 2016 Falcons. I’m thrilled that I get to own up to them publicly. This team is in excellent position to reach a Super Bowl. That is good for my business and theirs! Stay tuned and enjoy the playoff ride.

Buy those playoff tickets NOW!

NO EXCUSES!

nfl-playoffs-bannerThe playoff tickets are available NOW. You can go to AtlantaFalcons.com and get them!  Great seats ARE available.  I know because I bought mine today!  You know the day and the game time. You want to have Atlanta fans buying up these seats before the opposing team is named. If the Packers or Giants come to town they will bring along a lot of fans. Block that opportunity NOW!

MATT RYAN IS MVP!

It is not just about the statistics, even though almost every single category wins the argument for Matt Ryan.  He never had a dip that lasted more than a half this whole season. Take that Aaron Rodgers! He was not suspended for 4 games either. Sorry Tom Brady! The Dallas rookies can have a category for rookies all their own.

Matt blew away his career statistics in season 9. He was far and away the most consistent QB in the game. Give the guy his due.

WELCOME HOME MIKE VICK:

I was proud of Mike Vick in his homecoming and even more of the  hometown fans who gave him his ovation. Mike paid his debt to society and more importantly to the people he owed money. He is an example of redemption and continues to lead a changed life. Bravo Mike and congrats to our own Brian Finneran too for being honored.
